Anyone used a TI25 10/22 mag?

Anyone here used a TI25 10/22 mag? I'm looking to get a few hi-cap reliable mags for my 10/22 and these sound great from their marketing page.

But I want to hear real stories...

I have a Butler Creek "Hot Lips" mag that jams about every 7-10 shots and I want something reliable. Any thoughts?

For that price they had better be reliable.

They have cheaper ones, made from cheaper materials. The Aluminum one is the one they made their name on though so that is why I linked it.

You can get a composite (think glock type material) for like $40 and a plastic "polycarb" one for like $20. I just linked the big pricey one because that is the mag they are known for...

Still curious if anyone has used one?

I have 3 of the aluminun ones from a few years ago. Performance is flawless as you can adjust how they fit to the recevier with 4 set screws.
never had a problem

Their cans are nice too...

I've got four of the aluminum ones: bought one a year ago, and picked up three more a couple of months ago when I saw they dropped the price to $59.99... I paid $75.00 for my first one... guess that tells you what you need to know. :ok:

P.S. They also sell spare parts if you ever need to do any repairs, so consider these a l-o-n-g term investment... not a throwaway purchase.

:5_1_120:

P.P.S. Right now, they're offering FREE SHIPPING if your total purchase is over $150.00! :)

I bought one of those magazines and after I got it adjusted it worked good from start to finish. I bought another 10/22 recently and pulled that magazine out of the one I had it in and stuck it in the new one. It jammed every time so I'm guessing maybe they have to be fitted to the gun you're going to use it in. I didn't have time to readjust it or do any experimenting then so I've just put it off until later. Since the price has come down maybe I better order a couple more though.

Yep. Need to adjust to the particular receiver which is why they are superior to other aftermarket mags. The 'fit and finish' of a stock 10/22 is very inconsistent.

I've always had good luck with the Butler Creek steel lip mags for half this cost. no jams or other issues. I always stayed away from the hot lip mags because of their nortorious lack of longevity and jamming.

The one you posted does look cool. Not sure I can justify 2x's the cost though.

Why not get a couple 10 round factory mags? They always worked for me. Pop one out, shoot 10 rounds, pop in another and so forth. Or, I pull out my Marlin model 60 with 17+1 round tubular mag capacity. I have learned that the tubular magazines for cheap .22's are superior than the external mags in function and reloading is quick with one of these.

I would not spend $60 on a .22 magazine. Heck you could buy a used Marlin for <$100. Waste of money. Go buy a factory 10 round magazine that works.

I like the tri-mag system.

I've also got 3 of the tri-mags (yep... nine magazines, 3 x 3).

They're an excellent alternative.

For two of the tri-mags, I splurged and bought the clear Ruger magazines... looks really sharp!

The tri-mags are bullet-proof and a brilliant idea.

The downside? Well, gee... duh, you have to "rotate" every ten shots.

The upside? You have 30 rounds right there waiting for you (versus 25 in the TI mag), and it's a lower profile.. sometimes having a long magazine sticking down from the rifle or charger doesn't "work" comfortably.

Cost-wise, figure 3 black mags (if you're going cheap... the clear mags run $17 each if you shop around... also hard to find) for $39, and $13 bucks for the tri-mag = $52 (maybe another buck or two for the shipping).

So, money-wise the two approaches are pretty much a wash since TI reduced the price on their 25-round aluminum mag.

It sorta comes down to what you like appearance-esthetics-wise.

Me? I've got the best of BOTH worlds... each has it's place.
